Teenage girl dies after being hit by a car on A12 in Colchester
An investigation is underway.
An investigation is underway following a serious crash on the A12 at Colchester.
Police and the ambulance service were called to the scene between Junctions 27 and 29 at around 7pm on Tuesday 22nd April.
It was reported that a car had collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, in her late teens, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family have been informed and are being supported as Essex Police continue their inquiries.
A road closure that was in place into the evening while emergency services were at the scene has now been lifted.
Anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident is being urged to get in touch with police.
