Teenage boy charged after serious assault in Harlow

A teenage boy has been charged, after a serious assault in Harlow.
Police were called to reports of an assault in the area of Gilden Way playing fields, shortly after 10pm on Saturday 6 July.
It was found a teenage boy had suffered a serious wound to his head which is not believed to be life-threatening.
He continues to receive hospital treatment.
Officers attended and, following enquiries at the scene and searches of the nearby area, detained a suspect by 10.15pm.
A 15-year-old boy, from Harlow, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, assault by beating and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.
