Teen fighting for his life after Shoeburyness attack
Police believe the assailant used a knife in the attack, late on Sunday night
A teenage boy is in critical condition following a knife assault in Shoeburyness late Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to Chapel Road shortly before 11:45 p.m. on May 19.
The boy sustained a head injury and was taken to the hospital. His condition is currently believed to be life-threatening.
Detective Sergeant Ami Evins, leading the investigation, stated, “We continue to investigate this serious assault and remain on scene. We understand that this is a concerning time for residents, but at this stage we believe there is no wider threat to the community. I’d ask anyone who may know anything or can help our enquiry to contact us.”
Essex Police remain in the area and are conducting high-visibility patrols. A cordon is in place, and Chapel Road and Horseshoe Crescent are closed to both motorists and pedestrians.
