A boy has been charged as part of an investigation into reports of a firearm being discharged in Loughton.

Officers were called to reports of a firearm being in Harvey Gardens at around 2.35pm on Saturday 18 June.

An investigation into the incident was then launched, no-one was injured.

A short time later, police say they discovered a vehicle, a Ford S-Max, which we believe to have been involved in the incident, in New Farm Drive, Abridge.

A 17-year-old boy from Buckhurst Hill has been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He appeared at Southend Youth Court on Tuesday 5 July. No pleas were entered and he was remanded into custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on August 2.

Two other people were arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on bail until next month.

Police are appealing for information.
