Teen arrested after hoax calls made to schools in Essex
The threatening calls were made on Tuesday afternoon
A 15 year old boy has been arrested after threatening hoax phone calls were made to three schools in Essex.
Essex Police say the calls, which targeted two schools in Colchester and one in Tendring, were made on Tuesday afternoon (20 May) and their enquiries established the threats were unlikely to be of a credible nature.
However, the force say they treating this matter extremely seriously.
A 15-year-old boy, from Colchester, has been arrested on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat and causing a public nuisance.
Each of the schools impacted followed their own safety protocols as a precaution.
