Survey launched to find out what people think about paying more for emergency services in Essex.

Essex's Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner is considering a potential increase in council tax to help fund local emergency services but wants to know what residents priorities are before making a decision.

Funding for Essex Police comes for two main sources, central government funding and local council tax.

The force says after taking both of those sources into account, Essex Police receives the second lowest funding per resident of any police force in the country, and has one of the lowest council tax precepts for policing.
