Shortly before 11pm on Friday 23rd October, three men smashed through the backdoor of a property in Deneway, Basildon.

The occupants were sprayed in the face with a substance and reportedly thrown to the floor and punched.

One suspect then left through the backdoor and the other two left via the front with the dogs.

One is described to be of an Asian or Mediterranean descent and wearing wearing tracksuit bottoms.

The second is described to be around six foot tall, aged in his 30s or 40s, wearing a navy top with the hood up and had dark hair.

Officers believe at least one of the men was wearing a balaclava or beanie-style hat.

Their enquiries are ongoing and they are appealing for people to get in touch if they saw a dark coloured estate car, a dark coloured hatchback, or a white transit-type van in the area at the time or the days leading up to the incident.
