The Animal Care Team noticed spider monkey, Cheekaboo, was showing early signs of labour on 19th October and the following morning they were welcomed with a baby clinging to her.

Everyone is yet to find out the gender of the new addition but the zoo expects it won't be long before they can name the baby.

Columbian black spider monkey's are born with pink faces and ears, which will soon develop into dark hair.

While they don't have thumbs they do have hook-like hands to help them manoeuvre, and a long tail which they often use a fifth limb to help them climb and keep balance.
