Police looking for Southend assault victim
Police are looking for a woman with head injuries after she was assaulted last night
Essex police are trying to locate the victim of an assault in Southend last night (Friday 7 March).
Officers were called to reports of a woman injured in an assault in Old Southend Road at about 11pm.
It is believed the woman left the scene with head injuries, and police want to find her to confirm her safety.
Officers arrived at the scene within five minutes of the 999 call and a 52-year-old man from Southend was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.
The woman is believed to be about 5ft 9in tall, with blonde hair in a bun.
She was wearing a knee-length light coloured jacket and cropped light coloured trousers, and was carrying a cream or light coloured bag.
