More than 100 people who've had smear tests at Ipswich, Clacton or Colchester hospital are being invited back for a second test.

It's as it's been revealed a nurse, who used to work at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) is currently under investigation by the Nursing and Midwifery Council for potentially 'working outside of their professional remit'.

ESNEFT says it's reviewed over 4100 test results - and has invited around 3% (just over 100) for another appointment.

if you've not already been contacted, ESNEFT says there's no need to worry.

It's also apologised for 'any anxiety this may have caused'.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council says it's unable to comment on an ongoing investigation.
