Sharp rise in Covid hospital admissions in Essex

191 beds were occupied by patients with confirmed cases of coronavirus as of Tuesday

There's been a sharp rise in the number of hospital admissions of Covid-19 patients in hospitals in Essex in just one week.

As of Tuesday this week (27 October), 191 beds were taken by patients with confirmed cases of coronavirus, a rise of 55% on the week before.

Essex was recently put into the second tier of covid restrictions after a request from the county council.
