Four Essex men have been jailed for their roles in a group which was supplying guns and ammunition to criminals across the county and in London.

A total of seven men received prison sentences of a combined 60 years at Southwark Crown Court last Thursday for their roles in a conspiracy to supply arms.

They were arrested after a joint operation from the Metropolitan Police and armed officers from Essex Police.

Detectives spent hundreds of hours building a case against the group and armed police were deployed 12 times in efforts to take them off the streets.

Those jailed include:

Daniel Ngoo, 30, from the Newham area of London was sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment for conspiring to sell prohibited weapons and ammunition.

Stephen Donkor, 45 of Seally Road, Grays, Essex was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for conspiring to sell prohibited weapons and ammunition.

Southwark Crown Court heard Ngoo has a leading role in weapons dealing, with Donkor sourcing the weapons and acting as a go between for poetntial buyers and sellers.

Donkor was paid a cut of the sales price in return for his help.

Yexley, Heal and Clarke-Chesaites were all Essex based, and played a role in the sale of a revolver in Basidon.
