Driver in life-threatening condition in hospital, after crash in Canvey

Police are still at the scene of a serious collision on the A130.

Officers were called to the A130, close to the Rayleigh Spur Roundabout, where the A130 meets the A1245 at around 4:30am this morning (4 September) following reports of a single-vehicle collision.

Emergency services were in attendance and the driver of the car was taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

Officers remain at the scene and working with Highways England to manage road closures.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is continuing enquiries and appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage to contact police, quoting incident number 121 of 4 September.
