Second pond cordoned off in connection with Phillip Lewis murder investigation in Harlow
Police expect to be on the scene for the rest of the week
Police investigating the murder of 59-year-old Phillip Lewis, in Harlow, have cordoned off a second pond.
Specialist police teams have been deployed to Netteswell Pond to the east of the town and we're told they're likely to remain there until the end of the week.
Essex Police have issued the following statement:
"Officers investigating the death of a man in Harlow are continuing search enquiries at Netteswell Pond in Harlow.
"Specialist search teams began work on Monday (30 January) and are likely to remain there until the end of the week.
"This relates to an ongoing murder investigation following the death of 59-year-old Phillip Lewis from Harlow.
"A cordon remains in place and we ask the public to respect this whilst we carry out our enquiries."
A murder investigation was launched after human remain were discovered at Oakwood Pond, Harlow, on New Year's Eve. One man has been charged.
Phillip Lewis was identified from the body parts and an inquest into his death opened earlier this month.
