Cyclist who died in Fairstead crash named by police
Police say they're now in a position to identify the cyclist
Police have identified a cyclist who died following a crash in Fairstead as 62 year-old Niall Kirkpatrick.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash involving a car and two bicycles on Fairstead Road shortly before 10.30am on Sunday 9th January.
One of the cyclists sadly died at the scene, while a second was left with injuries to his face.
A 65 year-old man from South Woodham Ferrers was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He has since been released under investigation.
Anyone who saw what happened is being encouraged to come forward.
