People can now have their say on plans to move two GP practices into Clacton Hospital.

NHS North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group has said both Ranworth and St James’ GP practices have expressed a wish to move from their current "outdated" premises.

This would, according to the CCG, give them the opportunity to deliver primary care services from new and more modern facilities.

It would also reportedly allow for a facility integrating community-based services at Clacton Hospital to be created, such as diagnostics, UTC, physio and other therapies and outpatients, with those care services provided by both GP practices.

The CCG has confirmed no health care services would be lost as a result of the relocation.

Pam Green, chief officer, NHS North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group, said:

"This is a marvellous opportunity to give a real boost to two of our local GP surgeries, resulting in new facilities and new services that will really benefit patients.

"It’s important though that people tell us what they think of these proposals, so we can get things right first time, so do please give us your feedback."

People have until 5pm on 3 May to complete the survey, either online or by calling 0800 389 6819.

Patients of the two practices who have registered a mobile phone number will get a text link to the survey.
