A person has been taken to hospital by air ambulance with potentially life-changing injuries after a crash in Manningtree.

The collision involved a car and motorcyclist, and happened on the B1035 earlier today (7 June).

The road now reportedly reopened in both directions (around 2.30pm), from Steam Mill Road (Horsleycross Street) to A120 (Horsley Cross, Horsley Cross).

A spokesperson for East of England Ambulance Service said:

"I can confirm that EEAST responded to an emergency call shortly before 11.30am regarding an incident on the B1035, Manningtree.

"We sent a rapid response car and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance also attended.

"One patient was transported by air ambulance to Addenbrookes Hospital."

Meanwhile an Essex Police spokesperson confirmed:

"Officers attended a serious collision near to Horsley Cross on Tuesday (7 June).

"We were called shortly after 11.30am to reports that a car and a motorcycle had been involved in a collision.

"The biker, a woman in her 40s from Suffolk, was taken to hospital with injuries which may be life-changing.

"To assist with our investigation, Clacton Road (B1035), was shut for several hours.

"We'd like to thank members of the public who assisted with first aid.

"Anyone with information about this incident, or available dash cam footage, is asked to call 101 and quote incident 407 of 7 June."
