Person dies after incident on the tracks near Leigh-on-Sea train station
There are still some delays on the Shoeburyness line
A person has died after an incident on the line near Leigh-on-Sea railway station this morning.
British Transport Police officers were called to the scene at around 7.20am today (4 January) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
The Shoeburyness line has now reopened.
Train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.
