One dies after incident at Pitsea Railway Station
British Transport Police were called to the scene earlier this morning
A person has died after a casualty on the tracks at Pitsea railway station was reported to British Transport Police.
They were called to the station at 9:05am this morning (May 12) and attended alongside paramedics.
Sadly, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A file on the incident is now being prepared for the coroner, and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Trains for c2c railways stopped running this morning whist emergency services attended the scene. All lines are now open but some services may be still delayed, cancelled or altered at short notice.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Pitsea railway station at 9.05am on 12 May to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
