£400 million is being awarded to over 2,700 organisations in loans and grants.

Essex organisations and events are among thousands that will receive funding from the government as they look to reopen and recover.

Local cultural and heritage groups set to receive funding include:

CODA Colchester - £25,188

Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd - £90,000

Colchester Arts Centre - £25,990

Colchester Mercury Theatre Ltd - £125,000

Firstsite Ltd - £692,625

H2DANCE - £17,363

SIGNALS ESSEX MEDIA CENTRE LTD - £37,000

Theatre Arts Action Trust - £60,175

Theatre Temoin Limited - £25,000

Universal Artist Agency - £34,377

This brings the Government's total investment across grants, capital and repayable finance from the Culture Recovery Fund so far to more than £1.2 billion across over 5,000 individual cultural and heritage organisations and sites.

The first round of grants and repayable finance totalling more than £800 million were allocated to ensure the immediate survival of 3,800 cultural organisations and heritage sites across the country.

This second release of funding builds on the lifeline grants already awarded to support museums, theatres, performance venues, historic sites and cinemas as they reopen to audiences and visitors throughout the spring and summer.
