Open day for physiotherapists looking to join Colchester sports park
The Northern Gateway Sports Park will be opening in April
Physiotherapists looking to start up or expand their business are being invited to be part of Colchester's new Northern Gateway Sports Park.
A sports physio suite, within the park's main sports centre building, is being offered for hire by the borough council.
It will complement a range of indoor facilities, including a five-court sports hall, a fully equipped fitness suite, exercise and dance studios, an interactive velo studio, and a café.
The park, which is located just off Junction 28 of the A12, will be opening in late April.
Councillor Theresa Higgins, portfolio holder for commercial services, said:
"We're very excited to present this unique commercial opportunity and look forward to welcoming an ambitious business on board.
"This vibrant new development, of regional importance, will be key to building healthier communities and supporting a stronger local economy."
The self-contained, 160-sq. ft facility features a suspended ceiling with recessed spot lighting, running water and heating, access to onsite parking and gigabit broadband.
It is fully glazed to one side offering panoramic views across the main 3G sports pitch and beyond.
Colchester Borough Council funded the £28.8 million development, which was project managed by Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd.
It has been supported by funding from groups including British Cycling, Sport England and from the England and Wales Cricket Board.
The 76-acre site features a fully floodlit, one-mile closed cycle track, two latest generation 3G pitches and seven traditional grass rugby pitches.
A new "state-of-the-art" clubhouse will become the new home of Colchester Rugby Football Club, while an archery range and clubhouse will become home to the Colchester and District Archery Club.
Those interested will be able to view the suite during an open day next Tuesday (2 March).
