A cat which escaped from her home in North Wales over Easter has been found safe and well in Essex.

Ashley's owner posted on Facebook to say she got out of the house in Glen Conwy on Good Friday after a cleaner left the window open.

The two year-old Siamese had never left the house before, and jumped 15 feet to get away.

Her owner said they had the whole village out looking for her but they were left 'totally devastated' when there was no sign of her.

Ashley's mammoth journey

But things changed when they got a call earlier this week from Karen who said they had her cat.

Ashley had been found in a garage and handed in to charity Pippa's Army Animal Rescue to see if they could help find the cats owner.

The pet's owner said they were 'really, really grateful' to the charity who took care of her.

It's thought she hitchiked the 279-mile journey in a vehicle, but wasn't left with any serious injuries.
