The large coronavirus vaccination centres at Colchester's Community Stadium and Clacton Hospital remain closed due to the snow.

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), which runs both sites, announced yesterday that Clacton Hospital will open tomorrow but Colchester's Community Stadium won't reopen until Friday (12th February).

They have been closed since the start of the week due to the weather conditions brought by Storm Darcy.

Priority groups who have missed out on appointments are being asked not worry, as more slots will be made available to accommodate bookings "as soon as possible".

Once they do reopen, EPUT is urging people to plan their journeys carefully and wrap up warmly, or cancel their appointment the day before if they would prefer not to travel.

People can cancel or re-book their appointments by visiting the NHS national booking website or by calling 119.

Some sites are open

There are a number of hubs still open though, including at the Fryatt Hospital in Harwich and the Colchester Primary Care Centre:

Yellow weather warning

We have a yellow warning of snow in place until midnight tonight (10th February).

After some snowfall overnight some schools remain shut today too.

You can find the full list here.

Police are still advising motorists to travel if you're journey is essential as the roads remain dangerous.
