New skate park planned at Clacton Leisure Centre
The local council is looking for a contractor to build the facility
A new skate park could be built in Clacton under new plans.
Tendring District Council has allocated ÂŁ250,000 for the project and is currently in discussions with contractors.
Work is expected to begin in the new year at the Clacton Leisure Centre.
Alex Porter, from Tendring District Council, said: “This scheme has taken a little while to get to this point."
"With the council carrying out a number of exciting sport projects, such as the wet-side refurbishment of Clacton Leisure Centre, it has simply not been possible to do them all at the same time and give them the attention they deserve,” Councillor Porter said.
“We’re now able to really progress this project, providing an important asset to the community, and we’re hoping for some strong bids from potential contractors.”
