The heartbroken mum of a 20-year-old man who died following a collision on Canvey Island has paid tribute to "the live wire of the family with the biggest heart”.

Connor Burden, from Canvey Island, suffered serious injuries and, sadly, later died in hospital following a collision involving an E-scooter and a van in Harvest Road, shortly after 5.50pm on Friday 27 October.

His mum said:

“Losing my boy has left all his family and friends absolutely devastated.

“He was the live wire in the family with the biggest heart, he idolised his siblings especially his baby sister and thought the world of his friends around him.

“As a family we are struggling to find a way to ever get through this but the support we have received from Connor’s friends and other family members has been so amazing.

“I know my boy would be proud of each and every one of them.

“Fly high my darling boy.”

A thorough investigation into this incident is continuing at pace and Connor’s family is being supported.

We continue to appeal for anyone with information, or anyone with dash cam footage which could assist our investigation, to come forward.
