Man and woman attacked by e-bike riders wearing balaclavas in Colchester

Officers investigating an assault in Colchester are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage.

Police say the attack, on a man and a woman, occurred at approximately 00.45am on Wednesday 9 July at Maldon Road, near the roundabout at the top of Balkerne Hill.

It was reported that they were approached by two people riding electric bikes and wearing balaclavas.

A argument took place, and one victim was punched in the chest and dragged along the pavement as the rider on the electric bike fled the scene. It resulted in some minor injuries.

Detectives would particularly like to speak to the driver of a car that had to swerve out of the way.
