A Witham man has been jailed for 10 years after a serious sexual assault in April last year.
31 year old Billy Parker, of Mulberry Gardens, admitted to carrying out the attack in Witham.
His victim was assaulted after they fell unconscious after they suffered a medical episode.
Parker recorded what happened on his mobile phone. He was arrested April 4 last year and admitted to rape at Chelmsford Crown Court.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison last week.
Detective Constable Carolyn Holland, part of a special unit at Essex Police, said:“The victim in this case has show a huge amount of courage throughout the investigation and I want to pay tribute to them.
“This incident has had a huge impact on them and their family and is likely to for some time.
“It takes incredible bravery to come forward and report an assault and I hope Parker now being sentenced will help them move forward.
“Billy Parker’s actions were horrific. Instead of coming to the aid of the victim in a moment of need, he took advantage of their vulnerability for his own sexual gratification.
“He is clearly a dangerous individual and I am glad he will now be behind bars for the foreseeable future.”
