A man who admitted to producing cannabis at a property in Leigh-on-Sea has been jailed for eight months.

Police raided an address on Gravel Road last Thursday (15 September), locating a 'substantial' grow along with hydroponic equipment.

27 year old Mujo Docaj admitted to cannabis production at Southend Magistrates' Court. He will have to pay a fine of £187 as well as serving time in prison.

PC Scott James, of Essex Police, said: “Thanks to the public who gave us information about what was happening in Leigh, we were able to quickly arrest Docaj and put a stop to the drugs making their way on to the streets.

“Docaj knew this was illegal and pleaded guilty to producing cannabis at his court hearing.

“But we won’t stop there. If anyone knows of anyone producing drugs or drug dealing in their community, please let us know and we will deal with it.”
