Man injured after robbery in Witham

A bike and several personal items were stolen

A man has suffered several minor injuries after a robbery in Witham.

It happened at around 8.30pm on Saturday (13 March) as the man rode on the cycle path adjacent to Armond Road.

Two men indicated to him to stop before hitting him on the side of his face, causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.

A bike and several personal items were stolen.

The man, in his 40s, then made his way home on foot.

Essex Police has said the suspects are described as two white men in their late 20s.

Both are described as 5ft 9ins, of proportionate build and both wearing dark clothing and hoodies.

One had a beard.

The bike is a red framed Specialized mountain bike.

Anyone with information, or who has seen the bike, is asked to contact police quoting reference 42/44923/21.
