Man in life threatening condition after collision in Witham

Essex police are investigating a collision between a van and a pedestrian in Witham. They're appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The collision took place at around 3.15am on Tuesday 20 August, in Hatfield Road.

The van was travelling away from Witham, towards Hatfield Peverel, at the time of the incident.

Officers and ambulance service colleagues attended, finding the pedestrian, a man aged in his 20s, had suffered serious injuries.

He remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and is assisting us with our enquiries.
