Man seriously injured after being hit by a van in Colchester
A man's suffered a serious head injury after hit and run in Colchester.
The victim, a 63 year-old man, was struck by a Ford Transit van as he pushed his bike across the road at around 4pm on Thursday 17th December.
It happened on the Derwent Road roundabout at the junction with Brinkley Road.
Police say the van initially stopped at the scene but drove off before officers arrived.
The man was treated at hospital for a serious head injury which is not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, at the moment.
Anyone who was in Derwent Road at the time is being asked to check their dashcam for any footage of the collision and share it with police to help with the investigation.
