Man from Pitsea arrested following serious collision on the A127

A pedestrian - a man in his 50s - has sustained serious injuries

A man has been arrested following a serious collision on the A127.

It happened at the crossing on the slip road from the A176 (Uppermayne) on the westbound A127 at around 11pm yesterday (Saturday 16 December).

A silver Ford Focus and a pedestrian were in collision – the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, has sustained injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.

The driver of the Focus, a 41 year-old man from Pitsea, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and is currently in custody.

Officers from Essex Police Roads Policing Unit are investigating and have asked anyone who saw anything or has any footage to come forward.
