Man dies after Brentwood collision

A man in his thirties, who was a passenger in a BMW involved in the crash has died in hospital

A man has died following a collision in Brentwood earlier this month.

A black Volkswagen Golf and a blue BMW 320i in Doddinghurst Road, near the Brentwood Leisure Centre, at 7.35pm on Friday 2 February.

Two passengers in the BMW – a man and a woman – were seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

Sadly, the man – who is in his 30s – died there eight days later.

The driver of the BMW – a 36 year-old man from Romford – was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

He was also taken to hospital and has since been released under investigation.

The driver of the Golf was also taken to hospital.

Specialist officers are supporting the family of the man who has died and Essex police's enquiries into the collision are ongoing.
