Man cleared of death by dangerous driving due to be sentenced in September
Liam O'Brien was found not guilty of Max Mayo's death yesterday by a jury
A man's been found not guilty by a jury of charges of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving in connection with a collision in Kelvedon.
Liam O’Brien, 32, of Navarre Gardens, Romford, was found not guilty yesterday (July 26) after a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
On September 3rd 2022, a driver of a vehicle died after a collision in London Road.
30 year-old Max Mayo, died at the scene while two bystanders were seriously injured.
Detective Sergeant Sam Nason, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “My thoughts today are with the family of Max Mayo who I know miss him desperately. As well as those that were seriously injured.
“We carried out a thorough investigation into this collision and the jury have reached their verdicts after consideration of all the evidence we have presented to them.”
O'Brien is due to be sentenced on September 12th after admitting "charges of dangerous driving, perverting the course of justice, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, failing to report a collision, driving with no insurance, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence."
