Man charged with multiple offences following 'serious incident' in Colchester

Officers say it's after they were called to Maidenburgh Street on Thursday (29th February).

A man has been charged with a series of offences after a serious incident prompted a police response to an area of Colchester.

Officers were called to Gantry Close at 10pm on Thursday 29 February 2024, where it was reported a man was threatened with violence and damage was caused to a property.

Connor Downer, 19, of Maidenburgh Street, Colchester, faces four charges: threats to cause damage, affray, criminal damage and possession of a bladed article.

Downer was expected to appear before Chelmsford Magistrates yesterday (Saturday).
