Man charged with firearms and drugs offences in Basildon
Police raided an address in Laindon earlier this week
A man has been charged with firearms and drugs offences after a police raid near Basildon yesterday morning.
34 year old Gjekson Pusi, of Hartington Street in Derby, was arrested following a police operation in Laindon.
He's accused of possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of crack cocaine and production of cannabis, as well as possession of criminal property.
Pusi is due to appear before Southend Magistrates’ Court today (May 24).
It comes in the midst of a firearms amnesty across Essex, which allows people to hand in guns and other weapons to police without fear of prosecution.
