Man charged with assaulting police officers in Harwich
It happened during a fight on Saturday
A man is due to appear in court today, having been charged with assaulting two Essec police officers.
They had responded to reports of a fight in West Street, Harwich shortly after 12.10am on Saturday. (29 April).
Officers attended to deal with the incident and as they did, two of them reported they had been assaulted.
A man was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Michael Richmond, 35, of Harcourt Avenue, Harwich, has been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and one count of threatening to damage or destroy property.
He’s due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 1 May).
