Man in his 40s in hospital after serious assault in Tilbury

Essex Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a serious assault in Tilbury over the weekend.
On Saturday evening, around 9:45pm, officers were called after a man in his 40s was seriously assaulted in Calcutta Road by a group of people.
He had been punched in the head, and left with significant injuries. He was taken to hospital.
Police believe there were people in the area at the time, and they are asking witnesses, or those with information and footage, to get in touch.
