Man arrested after stolen van chased along A12 near Chelmsford

A man's been arrested after a van failed to stop on the A12 in Essex and damaged a police car.

It was spotted travelling towards Chelmsford at Three Mile Hill at around 8:30pm. it failed to stop and led police on a short chase before being being stopped.

The van was later confirmed to be stolen and has been seized.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, criminal damage, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of a Class B drug and a motoring offence.

Six arrests were made by Essex Police's operational support group (OSG) last night, with suspects being detained for a range of offences, including violence and domestic abuse.
