Man airlifted to hospital after being hit by lorry on M11 in Essex

The incident happened between junctions 7 and 8 of the motorway

Essex Police investigating a serious collision on the M11 this morning (Friday October 11) are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.

The force were called to a collision between a pedestrian and a lorry on the southbound carriageway near junction 8 of the motorway at just after 9am.

A man, the pedestrian, has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries which are being treated as potentially life-threatening.

Both carriageways were closed between junctions seven and eight while emergency services worked at the scene.

The northbound carriageway was closed for an hour and the southbound carriageway was closed for three hours.

Officers are currently carrying out investigations and will be partially re-opening the southbound carriageway as quickly as possible.
