Man admits killing Essex dad at Westcliff pub
Dave Peck suffered fatal wounds from a crossbow, two days before Christmas day last year
A man has been convicted of killing 'much loved father' Dave Peck; at a pub in Westcliff two days before Christmas last year.
It follows an investigation by specialist detectives.
Dave, 51, died after being shot with a crossbow inside the Lamb and Lion pub in Station Road at around 6.40pm on 23 December.
Officers carried a search of the area shortly after and arrested 44 year-old Alfred Turner.
He was later charged with Dave’s murder.
Turner, of Station Road, Westcliff, appeared at Basildon Crown Court today (Friday 30 June) and admitted manslaughter by diminished responsibility.
He is due to be sentenced at the same court on Friday 22 September.
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe, who led the investigation, said: “My thoughts today, and those of my team, are with Dave Peck’s family.
“Dave was a much loved partner, father, son, and brother and I know he is dearly missed by his friends and family.
“My team and I have worked hard to provide them with answers about what happened to him and now Alfred Turner has been held accountable for his actions.”
