Man admits causing death by careless driving after pub crash in Colchester

A man has admitted causing death by careless driving after crashing into a pub in Colchester.

Stuart McClung, aged 40, died from injuries suffered during the incident at the Spinnaker pub in Hythe Quay shortly before 1am on 3 November 2019.

Several others also sustained injuries.

Driver of the vehicle, Bandile Xozumti, admitted causing death by careless driving at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday (12 May).

A pre-sentence report will be prepared and the 41-year-old, of Waterside Lane in Colchester, will be sentenced at the same court on 17 June.
