Live facial recognition to be used in Southend
It will be used on August 26th.
Essex Police will be using live facial recognition in Southend on Tuesday 26th August.
The use is part of their tactics to arrest people who have committed offences in the county.
They use the technology to find people wanted for "serious offences" and enforce orders against those whose faces are on a "watch list."
Essex Police says it has made dozens of arrests since first using the technology last year.
