Christmas diners hoping to eat at an iconic restaurant at Essex's Lakeside Shopping Centre are facing a rush to rebook... after the eatery sank.
The Miller and Carter steakhouse opened aboard a refurbished paddle steamer in one of the lakes at the shopping destination in 2019 and has since become a popular attraction.
The aft end of the ship now appears to have taken on water with images online showing it pitching down into the lake.
In a statement on social media, the restaurant said: "Unfortunately we will be closed until further notice due to structural issues."
"We will contact every guest as soon as possible, for safety reasons we are unable to access our restaurant to answer any phone calls.
"Management will be calling all guests with upcoming bookings. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused."
It's thought hundreds were booked to eat at the venue over the coming days as part of Christmas celebrations.
Diners now face a rush to rebook after unusual circumstances disrupted plans for Christmas dinner.
