Man charged with £30,000 Lakeside Apple store robbery

A 20-year-old man has been charged following the theft of tens of thousands of pounds worth of smartphones from the Apple store at Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock.

Avram Stoica is accused of stealing more than £30,000 worth of iPhone 17s during the robbery on 22nd September.

Stoica is also charged with attempted robbery after allegedly targeting an Apple store in Brent Cross on the same day, as well as two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Stoica has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, 24th November 2025).

Police have not shared additional details about the offences as investigations are ongoing.
