The mother of a Canadian teenager, who was murdered in Chelmsford at the start of the month, has paid tribute to her.

19 year old Ashley Wadsworth died after being stabbed at a property in Tennyson Road on February 1st.

In a statement released by Essex Police, Ashley’s mother Christy said:

“Ashley…. Mommy loves you and I will see you soon baby.

“Your sister and I are here waiting for you. God bless.”

She said she wanted to “thank everybody in the UK, Canada and around the world for their support and generosity at this difficult time”

“I am struggling every day to come to terms with this horrific tragedy and am eager to bring my baby home.”

She's appealed for people to respect the family's privacy.

Ashley's former boyfriend, 23 year old Jack Sepple, of Tennyson Road, is charged with her murder.
