It's as Covid-19 cases continue to fall

Visiting rules at hospitals run by the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Trust, which include Ipswich and Colchester, are being relaxed.

It's due to the number of Covid-19 cases continuing to fall.

The changes mean daily visiting slots have now been increased to two hours.

You'll still only be able to have two people at your bedside at any one time, but patients will be able to take visits from more than three people.

Visiting still has to be booked in advance with ward teams, and each patient will only have one visiting slot per day.

The two-hour rule doesn't apply to people visiting in exceptional circumstances such as end of life care.

More visiting for carers is also being supported, as well as visits by siblings to neonatal units, children's wards and postnatal wards.

Anyone showing any symptoms of Covid-19 should not visit hospitals.
