Pedestrian dies in Essex hit and run

A pedestrian has died following a hit and run in Southend.
Essex Police were called to Southchurch Road in Southend at around 2am following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are now looking for information to help locate the car involved, which they believe was light in colour.
They're urging anyone with information or CCTV footage to come forward.
