Arrest made and stolen phones recovered after Hatfield Peverel robberies
The incidents occurred around 8.50pm in the Pastures and surrounding streets
Police are conducting a fast-moving investigation following multiple robberies in Hatfield Peverel last night (22nd November).
The incidents occurred around 8.50pm in the Pastures and surrounding streets, where several suspects reportedly targeted multiple victims.
Officers responded quickly and arrested a 17-year-old suspect near Hatfield Peverel train station.
Six stolen phones have also been recovered and will be forensically analysed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and Serious Crime Directorate are working to identify additional suspects and locate all victims from Saturday night’s incidents.
Detective Inspector Dan Jeffries, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a fast-moving and large investigation - this means you’ll see more officers on the street in Hatfield Peverel today, and I urge anyone with information to speak to us.
“We know there were dozens of people nearby in a busy residential area – there will be CCTV, doorbell footage and dashcam footage and we’ll be collecting all of this as quickly as we can.
“There will be witnesses who were in the area last night who have now gone home – we want to hear from you too.”
Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the incidents, or those who have CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the robberies, to get in touch and assist with their inquiries.
