Green light for new Essex dance music festival
Chelmsford City Council has given the green light for a dance music festival on land close to where V Festival used to be held for as many as 15,000 revellers.

The festival is set to include a house stage, a garage stage, an urban tent and a Funky Essex FM tent.
Organisers have been given permission for a four day event next year – held between a Thursday and Sunday from 11am to 11pm.
They have been told they must inform both the council and Essex Police 60 days prior to the event.
The event would first be run as a one-day event before potentially expanding in future years.
Writtle Parish Council said the cumulative impact of events being held on the site is harmful to the character and appearance of the area, as well as in direct contradiction to Covid-19.
Organisers have admitted that the future of events is very uncertain in the current climate and whether such events will be allowed by next summer is still unclear.
A statement as part of a decision notice from Chelmsford City Council said: “The committee had due regard to the representations made by Writtle Parish Council but were satisfied with the steps that the applicant proposed to take to promote the licensing objectives.
“Any decision to refuse the licence has to be evidence based and there is no evidence of prospective harm.
“In particular, the committee was mindful of the fact that the two responsible authorities concerned – Essex Police and Environmental Protection – were not objecting to the grant of the licence subject to the imposition of the additional agreed conditions.”
